NSMQ 2022 GRAND FINALE

The NATIONAL SCIENCE AND MATHS QUIZ COMPETITION 2022 edition came to its end yesterday, 26th October 2022. It was held in the Great Hall of KNUST, Kumasi.

There was an opening ceremony to start the day.  There were speeches by sponsors of the quiz. There was also a time of jama where each was given some minutes to do their jama. Each schools anthem was respectfully sung and students and old boys sung to it.

There were three schools involved. Presbyterian Boys Secondary School,  Prempeh College and Adisadel College.

Prof. Elsie Effah Kaufmann was the quiz mistress for this contest.

The quiz started off in not much of a good way as schools fumbled and lost major points in the round. Not giving up, each school started to pick up little by little.

The first round ended with Prempeh College being in the lead with 16 points, Presec, Legon having 15 points and  Adisadel College 14 points.

The second round continued and Presec Legon and Prempeh tied with 21 points each. With Adisco having lost a point.

Problem the day being round 3 had Prempeh leading by 1 point against Presec. Thus Prempeh had 7/10 in the problem of the day. Presec and Adisco both had 6/10. This round ended with Prempeh having 28 points in total, Presec 27 and Adisco 19 points.

Prempeh College again ended the fourth round beating Presec by 1 point. Prempeh had 41 points, Presec had 40 and Adisco had 32 points.

The very last round of the day was the riddles which also determined the winner of the 2022 edition ot the NSMQ competition. Presec Legon came out victorious and winner of the 2022 edition of the NSMQ.  Presecs mantra 'we are still 7 a living God' has indeed been seen. The Blue Magicians won this contest with 50 points,  Prempeh College had 41 and Adisadel College had 32 points.

At the end of the day, Presbyterian Boys Secondary School won her 7th trophy. The Blue Magicians did it. It is a Blue Wednesdays for Presec-Legon.

Congratulations to Presbyterian Boys Secondary School for winning the NSMQ 22.
