NSMQ PRELIMS: DAY TWO

 It is day 2 of the preliminary stage of the NSMQ 22. There were 4 contests each at the 3 venues.

Kumapley Auditorium hosted the contests, Adu Gyamfi S.H.S vs Aburi Girls' S.H.S vs Sewfi Wiawso S.H.S,  Bishop Hernam College vs SDA S.H.S, Bekwai vrs Salaga S.H.S, St. Francis Xavier Jnr Sem vs Tweneboah-Kodua S.H.S vs Wesley S.H.S, Bekwai and Simms S.H.S vs Akatsi S.H.S vs Kadjebi-Asafo S.H.S.

In the Saarah-Mensah auditorium, the contests were Achimota vs Okuapeman S.H.S vs Navrongo S.H.S, Awudome S.HS. vs Odorgonno S.H.S vrs Akontombra S.H.S, St John's School vs Mpraeso S.H.S vs Kumbungu S.H.S, and St. Hubert Minor Sem vs Winneba S.H.S vs St. Joseph's S.H.S.

KNUST S.H.S auditorium hosted the contests between, St. Paul's S.H.S, Denu vs Nandom S.H.S vs Afua Kobi Ampem Girls' S.H.S, Anlo S.H.S vs St. Mary's S.H.S, Accra vs Akwamuman S.H.S, Nkwatia Presby S.H.S vs Yaa Asantewaa Girls' S.H.S vs Kintampo S.H.S and Koforidua Sec,Tech, School vs Tema Sec, School and Savior S.H.S

Nandom SHS, Adu Gyamfi SHS, and Achimota School won their contests, which were the first contests for the day at each venue, with forty-seven (47), forty-one (41) and forty-one (41) points respectively. Achimota School was beaten by the lions of Tamale School in last year’s competition and they’re looking forward to a good campaign this time around.

As at 1pm today, the second set of contests were brought to a close. Bishop Herman College made a narrow escape to the one-eigth stage winning their contest with 50 points over SDA S.H.S who had 48 points. Whereas, Anlo S.H.S and Awudome S.H.S secured themselves tickets to the one-eigth stage of the competition scoring 46 and 52 points respectively in their contests.

The third set of contests came to an end by 3 pm in the day. Yaa Asantewaa Girls S.H.S did themselves proud by beating Nkwatia Presby and Kintampo with 38 points. Wesley High School and St. Francis Xavier S.H.S tied points at the end of their contest. As a question was thrown to both schools to break the tie, St. Francis Xavier answered the tie-breaker question correctly and secured a spot in the one-eigth stage of the competition.Great Mpass did nothing but awe her fans with her smooth win over St. Jonhs School, Sekondi and Kumbungu S.H.S. Great Mpass makes it to the one-eighth stage of the competition with 46 points.


Day two of the NSMQ 22 prelims climaxed with the Mmarima Mma of KSTS winning their contest with 52 points. St. Huberts Sem. won her contest against Winneba S.H.S and St. Joseph's S.H.S with 45 points. Simms SHS sent Akatsi SHTS and Kadjebi-Asato SHS packing, having won that contest with 31 points
