NSMQ:PRELIMS DAY THREE

 


Day three of the NSMQ 22 featured 9 contests across the 3 venues. 

The first set of contests of the day wrapped up as at 11:30 am. These were contests between Ghana S.H.S, Tamale vs Fiaseman S.H.S and Lawra S.H.S which took place in the SAARAH-MENSAH auditorium. Kumapley Auditorium hosted the contest between Our lady of Mount Carmel Girls S.H.S, Kumasi Wesley Girls High School and Zion College. In the KNUST S.H.S auditorium, Shama S.H.S competed against Notre Dame Sem. S.H.S and Notre Dame Girls' S.H.S. At the end of these contests, Fiaseman S.H.S won their contest with just 26 points guaranteeing their spot in the one-eigth stage. Our Lady of Mount Camel made an impressive win with 53 points giving a gap of 20 points between them and Kumasi Wesley Girls. Shama S.H.S secured its ticket to the one-eight stage of the competition by winning her contest wint 46 points against Notre Dame Girls S.H.S and Notre Dame Sem. S.H.S

Tamale Islamic S.H., with 47 points, earned a place In the one-eigth stage of the competition after beating Abor S.H.S and Queen of Peace S.H.S in a contest held in the KNUST S.H.S Auditorium. Osei Kyeretwei delivered a masterclass performance, and urging over their competitors with 61 points in their contest at the Kumapley auditorium: this means Osei Kyeretwei is also joining Tamale Islamic S.H.S in the one-eigth stage of the competition. Finally for the noon contests, we had Ashaiman S.H.S. Mankraso and Brekum locking horns in the SAARAH-MENSAH auditorium for the last one-eigth slot of the day. Ashaiman came out with a late win, performing amazingly in the fifth round and bagging Riddle bonanza prize. Ashaiman won the contest with 37 points. 

Congratulations to them, we wish them the best in the one-eigth stage of the competition.

The last set of contests for the day saw Toase S.H.S, Asanteman S.H.S and Kumasi Sec. Tech. winning their contests with 28,33 and 30 points respectively. Kumasi Sec. Tech, however, had a tough competition as the ladies from Holy Child School gave them some a hot pursuit. The contest had to be settled with a tie-breaker, with Kumasi Sec, Tech snatching the points away.

 Fiaseman S.H.S, Our Lady Of Mount Camel Girls' S.H.S, Shama S.H.S, Ashaiman S.H.S, Osei Kyeretwei S.H.S, Tamale Islamic S.H.S, Toase S.H.S, Asanteman S.H.S and Kumasi Secondary Technical made it to the one-eight stage of the competition.
